Mediation is based on the principle of finding solutions to disputes in
a non-threatening environment with the help of independent and impartial
professional mediators. The role of the mediator is to facilitate and
manage the process that will help parties reach a mutually acceptable
solution.
Mediation is a powerful dispute resolution technique and is based on a
set of fundamental principles:
Voluntary Process
- the parties are not obliged to participate.
Confidential -
information revealed in the process is only shared by the parties concerned.
Independent and
Impartial - the mediators are there to manage the process and help the
parties to find an
acceptable way forward. Solutions are never imposed.
The parties reach
their own agreement.
All our mediators believe in and uphold these fundamentals which are embodied
in a Code of Practice within which each mediator is required to operate.
